If there was an award for the most popular news story of the Kwik-Fit British Touring Car Championship off-season over the winter, you’d get very good odds on the arrival of Jade Edwards at BTC Racing being the winner!
Greeted with a huge amount of love from BTCC fans, the announcement in January had followers of the championship absolutely buzzing. Not only will 2021 be Jade’s first full BTCC campaign, she has one of the most potent cars in the category at her disposal, engineered by one of the best teams.
It’s absolutely wonderful news for the championship as a whole, with a female racer setting out on a complete season in the BTCC for the first time since 2007. Bringing another terrific spotlight onto the championship, the Northampton racer’s season will be keenly watched by fans and media alike.
Jade impressed on her one-off BTCC appearance last year, and brings strong experience from the fast-paced world of the Renault UK Clio Cup. If one thing is a certainty in the usually unpredictable world of BTCC action, Jade Edwards will undoubtedly make waves in 2021.
